Mumbai, Dec. 3 -- Divulging a bit of their conversation back in New Delhi last month, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar said he was offered a cabinet ministry by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s bid to induct the 79-year old politician's outfit into the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Modi, as per Pawar's statement, made the offer interestingly days before the NCP chief's nephew Ajit went along with the BJP to help Devendra Fadnavis become the Maharashtra Chief Minister though the government lacked majority.Pawar had earlier said he met the Prime Minister to discuss the farm distress prevailing in the western state, which witnessed a political crisis since the assembly poll results ...
