New Delhi, Dec. 3 -- Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday took a dig at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey's comment where the parliamentarian dismissed the significance of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is currently reeling in the country at 4.5%.

Dubey made the comment in the backdrop of India's falling GDP figure in the second quarter of the ongoing fiscal year.Dubey in the Lok Sabha on Monday said, "GDP didn't exist before 1934.
