IMPHAL, Aug. 24 -- Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (CPI) today celebrated its 72nd Foundation Day during a function held at Hueiyen Lallong Shanglen, Irilbung.

Speaking at the occasion, CPI national executive member, Dr. M. Nara recounted that under the able leadership of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot, the Communist party was conceived in the State to work for welfare of the masses.

However, presently, the people are being deprived of various welfare benefits despite repeated claims and publicity by the Modi led government. The Modi government only indulges in cheap publicity stunts and sloganeering while compromising the aspirations of the people, he contended.
