Manipur, Feb. 20 -- Two accused in the Marina death case have been sent to further five-day police custody for thorough interrogation and investigation to establish whether the deceased was subjected to domestic violence.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Imphal West allowed the police to keep the accused in their custody till February 24. The accused are Ayekpam Chinglensana (husband of the deceased Marina) and Ayekpam Chingthamkhong (the brother of Chinglensana).

Police mentioned that based on a post mortem examination report, the death was due to asphyxia resulting from hanging. However, after interrogation, the two accused denied committing any offence.
