Manipur, Feb. 16 -- A massive asteroid, considered "potentially hazardous" by scientists, zoomed past earth on Saturday morning. It missed the earth by about 3.6 million miles, according to reports.

The planet earth was saved when the giant asteroid, said to be bigger than any man-made structure, zoomed past it at around 6:05 am on Saturday, a report stated, quoting NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS).

Taking into consideration the size of this space rock, experts believed that a possible collision would have killed millions of people in a split second.
