Manipur, Sept. 9 -- UN figures indicate that 80% of people most adversely impacted by climate change are women. The 2015 Paris Agreement has made specific provisions for the empowerment of women, recognizing that they are disproportionately impacted.

These figures also indicates impacts of climate change are being felt across the world. The region that is particularly hard hit is the Eastern Himalayan range and the Northeast of India, ecologically an extremely fragile region. Among northeast state of India, the state Manipur that 80% of population are dependent on agriculture are experiencing worse impact of climate change on agriculture.
