India, Nov. 16 -- My trips to the mountains have always been enchanting. What attracted me most, this time around, were the Buddhist prayer flags that I always saw and often bought, but never paid close attention to. However, this last trip, I decided to find out what they represent when I saw a monk looking at the flags and smiling. When I asked him what it means, he said, "My prayers have been answered." He went on to elaborate that the fading of colours from the flags is considered highly auspicious. It means that prayers were carried by the breeze, making fading a good sign. Thereafter, every time I looked at a faded flag, it gave me joy to believe that the prayers of someone, somewhere, have been answered....
