VARANASI, March 26 -- IIT-BHU has so far provided 159 litres of sanitizer to the Municipal Corporation and Rotary Club, and distributed bottles of hand sanitizers among the officials at various government offices to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. The institute has also shared the method of making the sanitizer with district administration and is organising training sessions at various organizations and hospitals, to help them make their own sanitizer. Following the guidelines of World Health Organization (WHO), IIT-BHU is working to provide good quality, low cost sanitizer under the guidance of assistant professors Dr V Ramanathan of chemistry department and Dr Marshal of school of biomedical engineering. IIT-BHU director professor Pramod Kumar Jain said that the institute, in collaboration with the district administration and the municipal corporation, has made an effective sanitizer.
