India, July 11 -- A woman was held for allegedly running over a five-year-old with her car on Golf Course road Wednesday morning. Police said the minor was crossing the road with his grandmother when he was allegedly hit by a motorcycle. After the collision, he fell on the road and was allegedly run over by an onrushing Honda City car. Giriraj Singh, assistant sub inspector, Sector 56 police station, said the boy sustained a head injury and was rushed to a hospital in Sushant Lok-I, where he died during treatment. His grandmother was unhurt. "The motorcycle rider fled. The woman driving the Honda City car was held and later released on bail," he said. A case was registered against the motorcycle rider and the car driver under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (death by negligence) at Sector 56 police station.
