The secret to all-day glam is not rocket science; it's all about applying makeup correctly from the base up, ensuring every layer stays put from morning to night. Monika Khullar, makeup artist and training head at House of Beauty, shares how one can keep makeup looking pristine with useful five tips. Start by thoroughly washing the face to remove dirt and oil, then apply a light, non-greasy moisturiser. Follow with a primer to create a smooth base for an even application of foundation and concealer. Apply foundation, concealer, and blush in light layers and blend well for a natural look that holds up through the day without feeling heavy. After the base, lightly set the makeup, especially under the eyes and around the nose, where creasing happens. Finish with a light mist or spray to lock everything in place and prevent smudging or fading, even in humidity. Start by prepping the eyelids with an eyeshadow primer, then use long-wear, crease-resistant products; this is especially integral for oily lids or long days outdoors. Ensure lips are clean and moisturised with a lip balm. Blot any excess balm, then apply lip liner and lipstick evenly.
