India, Oct. 16 -- American athlete Natalie Grabow from New Jersey has made history as the oldest woman to complete the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. She finished the gruelling 3.8 km ocean swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a full 42 km marathon run in 16 hours, 45 minutes, clinching the title in the F80-84 age group, at the ripe old age of 80. A lifelong runner, Natalie turned to triathlon in her 60s after injuries forced a shift. Since then, she's embraced the sport with fierce discipline. Despite setbacks, she returned stronger. Her coach, Michelle Lake, describes her as "resilient" and "disciplined," noting she trains hard, never misses a workout, and is always looking for ways to improve. Natalie's dedication is part of a growing movement of older adults embracing endurance sports. Celebrity trainer Bhavna Harchandrai tells Health Shots, "Age is just a number and the new 70s are looking fitter, stronger, and sharper than ever, participating in fitness events such as Hyrox and Ironman." Experts suggest that staying active, eating well, strength training, sleeping well, and keeping the mind engaged are key to ageing well, something Natalie Grabow embodies every step of the way. HTC...
