Mumbai, March 10 -- In films, actors and singers mostly have separate designated roles - one acts in front of the camera, and the other, lends voice as a playback singer. However, sometimes actors sing (think Alia Bhatt), and singers act (think Sonu Nigam). Now, rapper Badshah and singer Harrdy Sandhu are going to dabble in acting. What is it about acting that lures successful singers to face the camera? Badshah says he "never considered" himself as an actor, but people around him have faith that he can be one. "People told me that I will make for a decent actor. They convinced me... And sometimes, conviction matters, even when it's not from me... It gives you the confidence that you can do something different," he says. Badshah won't be the first singer to try out acting. Sonu Nigam was a child actor before he became one of the most sought-after playback singers. He then acted in Jaani Dushmann (2002) and Kash Aap Hamare Hote (2003) and Love in Nepal (2004). He did not pursue films after that. Neither did Shaan after Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya (2014), which also marked singer Mika Singh's acting debut. All these films bombed at the box office....
