Sri Lanka, April 26 -- A 21-year-old youth died and another was hospitalised with serious injuries following a head-on collision in the Olukaranda area of Kekirawa last night, police confirmed.

The incident occurred when a lorry travelling from Dambulla towards Jaffna collided with a motorcycle heading from Maradankadala towards Kekirawa, according to police reports.

The rider and the pillion passenger of the motorcycle sustained injuries in the crash. Tragically, one of them, identified as 21-year-old Ramesh Dilshan, a resident of Thoruwewa, Maradankadala, succumbed to his injuries.
