Sri Lanka, Jan. 1 -- A motorcyclist died and two others sustained serious injuries following a collision with a tipper truck in the Kanguweli area yesterday (31) evening.

Muthur Police report that the motorcycle, which carried three individuals, was recently purchased and its registration documents had been submitted to the Department of Motor Traffic just days prior.

The incident occurred when the tipper truck, traveling from Neelapola toward Dehiwatta, collided with the motorcycle arriving from the opposite direction.

While all three individuals were initially rushed to the Kiliveddi Regional Hospital, the rider was pronounced dead upon arrival.
