Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- Police investigators have revealed new details regarding the muder of Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairperson Lasantha Wickremasinghe. The motorcyclist who assisted the gunman is a 19-year-old youth who aided in the murder due to a personal friendship with the gunman, according to his confession.

The main suspects, the gunman and the motorcyclist, were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Other arrested individuals include, gunman's wife, arrested in Kekirawa, the food vendor in Kekirawa who provided shelter to the gunman, motorcyclist, Two substance abusers residing in the Methsara Uyana housing complex in Borella and the Halgahakumbura area.
