Sri Lanka, Aug. 10 -- The Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Eranga Gunasekara, says that a new leadership board made up of young leaders will be introduced at the National Youth Societies Conference, which is scheduled for the day after tomorrow.

This announcement comes amid conflict over the appointment of officials for the youth society federations. Members and former members have accused the current government of politicising the youth societies.

A protest was held against this on August 6 in front of the National Youth Services Council in Maharagama.
