Sri Lanka, July 23 -- A youth who later took his own life murdered his girlfriend in the Marangala area of Padiyathalawa.

According to the police, the victim's mother and father were also injured and have been hospitalised.

The victim was a 22-year-old woman, while the boyfriend was a resident of Monaragala.

A spokesperson for the Padiyathalawa Hospital stated that the mother and father are not in a critical condition.
