Sri Lanka, July 22 -- A 26-year-old woman has died in a fatal collision on the Colombo-Kandy main road today (22).

Police reported that the incident occurred in front of a shop near the Danovita junction.

A motorcycle travelling from Warakapola towards Colombo reportedly overturned after the rider lost control, causing the female rider to fall onto the road.

She sustained injuries when a tipper truck, approaching from behind, ran over her.

The victim, a resident of the Suriyapura area, was admitted to hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

Danowita Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
