Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- A woman who attempted to enter the Avissawella Magistrate's Court on September 27 with a fake pistol has been remanded.
She was remanded by order of the Avissawella Magistrate until November 11.
The fake pistol was discovered in the woman's handbag when she was searched upon her arrival at the Avissawella Magistrate's Court premises.
During questioning, she stated that she had come to the court premises for a legal matter.
According to her identity card, she is a resident of Netolpitiya, Tangalle.
Action has been taken to obtain a phone analysis report, and she has been remanded under the charge of attempting to commit a criminal offense.
Further investigations into the incident are underway.
