Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Meegahawatta Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a lodging room in the Delgoda area yesterday(21).

The deceased has been identified as a 49-year-old resident of Delgoda. The body was discovered by the room's owners after they noticed a foul smell emanating from the room where the woman was staying.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and Meegahawatta Police are conducting further inquiries.
