Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- A woman accused of stealing her sister-in-law's appointment letter has been released on bail.

The Kurunegala Acting Magistrate ordered her release on a cash bail of Rs.10,000 and two personal bails of Rs.100,000 each.

The complaint was made by a doctor from Anuradhapura, who stated that her appointment letter as a specialist physician, sent by the Ministry of Health, had gone missing.

She claimed that this prevented her from taking up her new position. Police arrested the sister-in-law, as she was the one present when the letter was delivered by post.
