Sri Lanka, July 1 -- The Department of Meteorology has announced that wind speeds are likely to increase up to 40 kilometers per hour in several regions, including the western slopes of the Central Hills, Northern, North Central, and North Western provinces, as well as the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.

Additionally, several spells of rain are expected this afternoon in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, along with the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts.
