Sri Lanka, Jan. 13 -- A continuous satyagraha protest initiated by National Freedom Front leader and former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, alongside civil organization representatives, remains active in front of the Ministry of Education.

The demonstration began yesterday morning with demands for the withdrawal of new education reforms and the resignation of the Prime Minister from the position of Education Minister.

Protesters intend to maintain the satyagraha until the proposed reforms are rescinded, according to statements made by Wimal Weerawansa.

While police initially interfered during the construction of the protest stall, a public petition against the education changes also launched at the site yesterday.
