Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- Reports have emerged that certain groups are feeding wild elephants on the Buttala-Kataragama road with food mixed with cannabis to make them aggressive.

According to our correspondent, a woman traveling on this road was killed in a wild elephant attack last December. Eight people have previously died due to similar attacks on vehicles along this route.

It has been revealed that some YouTube content creators are behind this act, feeding elephants with cannabis-laced pumpkin and sweet potatoes to provoke violent behavior. Incidents of intoxicated elephants turning aggressive have been reported in the past.
