Sri Lanka, Jan. 17 -- A week-long exposition of sacred relics arriving from Gujarat, India, will commence at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple on February 4, coinciding with National Independence Day.

Health and Media Minister and Cabinet Spokesperson Nalinda Jayatissa shared this information today (17) while visiting the Mahanayake Theros of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters.

The opportunity for the public to pay respects to the relics stems from a discussion between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter's visit to Sri Lanka last April.
