Sri Lanka, Jan. 3 -- A sudden breakdown in the primary water supply line from Ambatale to Dehiwala resulted in an immediate suspension of water services for several neighbourhoods.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board stated that the affected regions include Moratuwa, Rawatawatta, Soysapura, Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala, Wellawatta, Pamankada, Mulleriyawa, and Kolonnawa.

While most areas face a total cutoff, Battaramulla continues to receive water under low pressure. Officials expect to restore the full water supply by midnight today.
