Sri Lanka, Oct. 16 -- The Horana Chief Magistrate today (October 16) ordered an open warrant be issued for the main suspect in a case involving the alleged fraudulent sale of a large, Rs. 300 million-valued land to a Horana businessman for gem mining.

The warrant was issued because the main suspect failed to appear in court.

The open warrant was issued against a 60-year-old businessman residing in Mabola, Wattala.

The suspect was previously arrested on October 13 after officers, including the Officer-in-Charge of the Panadura Special Crimes Investigation Unit, raided his business premises in the Peliyagoda area.
