Sri Lanka, Dec. 23 -- The veteran actor, director, and author, Kalashuri Sathischandra Edirisinghe, who left an indelible mark on Sri Lankan cinema, stage, and television for over five decades, has passed away.
He was 84 years old at the time of his demise.
He passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
Born on February 11, 1941, in Kelaniya, Sathischandra was the sixth child in his family.
He is the elder brother of the renowned vocalist Sunil Edirisinghe.
Educated at Kelaniya Sri Dharmaloka College and several other schools, he began his artistic journey through the theatre.
His acting dubut was through plays such as Henry Jayasena's 'Manaranjana Wadawarjana'.
