Sri Lanka, Jan. 14 -- The Gampaha High Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict today(14), in the case filed against 41 defendants regarding the assault and death of Member of Parliament Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security officer.

A three-judge bench comprising High Court Judges Sahan Mapa Bandara, Rashmi Singappuli, and Rasantha Godawela will issue the judgment.

The Attorney General filed the case against 41 individuals following the deaths of the Polonnaruwa District MP and his security officer in Nittambuwa town during the "Aragalaya" protests in May 2022.
