Sri Lanka, April 2 -- Val Kilmer, the actor known for his roles in "Top Gun," "The Doors," and "Batman Forever," has passed away at the age of 65. The cause of death was pneumonia, as confirmed by his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer.

Born in California on December 31, 1959, Kilmer was trained at Juilliard and became one of Hollywood's biggest stars in the 1990s. His breakout role was in "Top Gun" (1986), where he played the iconic Tom "Iceman" Kazansky.
