Sri Lanka, Jan. 13 -- United States Ambassador Julie Chung met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday afternoon (12) at the Presidential Secretariat, marking the conclusion of her diplomatic tenure in Sri Lanka.

She is scheduled to depart the island on January 16.

President Dissanayake commended the Ambassador for her consistent efforts to strengthen ties between the United States and Sri Lanka throughout her term.

He specifically expressed gratitude for her role in coordinating urgent relief for those affected by Cyclone Ditwah and acknowledged the significant support she provided during negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
