Sri Lanka, Sept. 14 -- Moratuwa Traffic Police have seized a passenger bus and arrested its driver for operating the vehicle without a revenue licence, insurance, or any of the required permits.

The bus, which was operating on route 255 from Mount Lavinia to Kottawa, was found to be in an extremely unsafe condition, with both the emergency door and passenger seats tied with ropes.

Police arrested the 49-year-old driver from the Mampe area in Piliyandala.

He is to be produced in court on multiple charges, including operating without a valid driver's licence and the poor maintenance of the vehicle.
