Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- An unidentified male body was found today in the Bentara River, near St. Mary's Church in Sinawatta, Aluthgama.
Aluthgama Police said the body was spotted by a person travelling in a boat and was entangled in a tree branch about five metres from the riverbank.
Police suspect the man was around 40 years old.
Officers from the Kalutara Crime Scene Investigation Unit are assisting Aluthgama Police with the investigation.
The body has been sent to the Kalutara Nagoda Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
