Sri Lanka, July 20 -- An unexploded anti-aircraft missile was discovered yesterday (19) in a home garden in Vathirayan, Murugan Kovil area, Vadamarachchi East, Jaffna.
Police stated that the missile was found while excavating a foundation for an extension to the house.
Officers from the Police Special Task Force and the Army arrived at the scene to inspect the missile and have since taken it away for further examination.
Defence officials believe the missile was used during the war, landed in the area without detonating, and became buried in the soil.
Maradankerny Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
