Sri Lanka, April 26 -- The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has announced that it has now exhausted all its food reserves intended for families in Gaza.

In a statement, the WFP said it delivered its final remaining food supplies to hot meal kitchens within the Gaza Strip.

These kitchens, which have been a crucial and consistent source of food aid for the population in recent weeks, are projected to completely run out of food in the coming days.

Despite only reaching half of the population and meeting just 25 percent of daily food requirements, these kitchens have provided a vital lifeline.

The WFP has also been supporting bakeries in Gaza to distribute affordable bread.
