Sri Lanka, May 5 -- The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the suspension of academic activities for 11 students in connection with the death of a second-year student of Sabaragamuwa University, who is believed to have taken his own life following an alleged ragging incident.
Concerning this, 4 third-year students from the same university were arrested last night.
These four individuals were presented before the Balangoda Chief Magistrate's Court today (5) and have been ordered to remain in remand custody until May 16.
Additionally, four more students surrendered to the Samanalawewa Police today in connection with the same incident.
