Sri Lanka, July 13 -- Two individuals arrested over the discovery of illegally imported motorbikes at the Hambantota Bird Park have been remanded until July 25.
This decision came after the suspects were produced before the Hambantota Magistrate.
The 21 motorbikes, valued at over Rs.20 million, were found hidden in an animal feed store at the park yesterday.
The discovery was made during a raid by officers from the Central Crime Investigation Bureau, acting on a special tip-off received by Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya.
Among the seized vehicles are 8 US-made motorbikes and 4 tricycles, all with engine capacities exceeding 1000cc.
