Sri Lanka, Oct. 28 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has confirmed the appointment of two new Deputy Governors to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

This move follows recommendations from the Central Bank's Governing Board and aligns with the powers granted under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Act, Number 16 of 2023.

Two existing Assistant Governors will be taking up the senior roles.

Dr. C. Amarasekara was set to assume his duties as a Deputy Governor from October 24, 2025.

Similarly, K. G. P. Sirikumara will become a Deputy Governor with effect from November 03, 2025.

These strategic appointments aim to bolster the leadership structure within the nation's primary financial institution.
