Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- Fort Police reported that two live rounds of ammunition were found on the third floor of the Customs Headquarters in Colombo Fort, within the Information Technology (IT) section.
The rounds found included one T-56 live round and one 12-bore type live round.
Following a telephone message received by Fort Police from the Director General of Customs, the live rounds were recovered from a staff rest room used by Assistant Customs Officers in the IT section.
A senior police official stated that criminal investigation officers, officials from the fingerprint office, and the Police Canine Unit are conducting investigations to determine who brought the ammunition to the location.
