SriLanka, Nov. 7 -- Two people were injured and admitted to Dickoya Base Hospital after a speeding three-wheeler skidded and crashed into a telephone pole while travelling from Maskeliya Upcot to Hatton.

According to Hatton Police, the incident occurred yesterday (6) at approximately 4:00 PM near the Dickoya Wanaraja Estate Tea Factory on the Upcot-Hatton main road.

A family of four was travelling in the three-wheeler at the time of the incident.

The crash resulted in injuries to the driver and his wife, who was seated in the back, both of whom were taken to Dickoya Base Hospital. The vehicle sustained severe damage.

Police are urging motorists travelling on roads in the Central Hills to exercise caution and drive slowly.
