Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- In a display of quick action, two female police officers in Aluthgama chased down and arrested a suspect today (9) who was attempting to flee in a stolen three-wheeler.

The owner of the vehicle, a resident of Bentota, alerted the Aluthgama Police Officer-in-Charge (OIC) via telephone as the theft was occurring.

Since male officers were not immediately available at the station, the OIC dispatched the two female officers to respond.

They pursued the fleeing vehicle along the Aluthgama-Welipenna main road, successfully intercepting it and apprehending the suspect.
