Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- Two buses collided head-on on the Habarana-Polonnaruwa main road near the Minneriya Hate Kanuwa Devala Pallama.

A CTB bus traveling from Badulla to Jaffna and a private bus carrying employees from a Katunayake factory were involved in the accident. The private bus had been on its way to Dehiattakandiya for a funeral ceremony, with 35 employees on board.

Four employees from the private bus were injured, with one in critical condition. Meanwhile, 16 people on the CTB bus sustained injuries and were admitted to Polonnaruwa and Habarana hospitals.

The driver of the private bus has been arrested and will be taken to Minneriya Police, according to the Minneriya Police.
