Sri Lanka, May 23 -- President Donald Trump has announced his recommendation for a 50% tariff on all goods imported from the European Union, effective June 1, 2025.

In a social media post today (23), he stated that discussions with the EU were "going nowhere!"This marks an escalation in his trade disputes with the bloc.

Additionally, President Trump threatened to impose at least a 25% import tax on iPhones not manufactured in the United States.

He stated he had "long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhones that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else.
