Srilanka, Nov. 19 -- Trincomalee Magistrate M.N.M. Samsudeen today (19) ordered the release of a Trincomalee Investigation Unit OIC (Officer-in-Charge), arrested in connection with assaulting and injuring a Police Sergeant and the alleged rape of the Sergeant's daughter, on a personal bail of Rs. 100,000.

Additionally, the Magistrate ordered the Trincomalee Harbour Police to refer the victim of the incident to the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) for a medical examination.
