Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- The trial in the case filed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) against former State Minister Diana Gamage commenced today (30) before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
The charges include providing false information to the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to obtain a passport and remaining in Sri Lanka without a valid visa.
When the case was called before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama, the court read out the charges to the defendant. Diana Gamage pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Following this, the testimony of former Department of Immigration and Emigration official Hansika Kumarasiri was recorded under the direction of State Counsel Akila Dharmadathu.
