Sri Lanka, Feb. 10 -- Police Media Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Buddhika Manatunga, stated that investigations have revealed excessive speed as the cause of the fatal bus accident in the Thorayaya area of Kurunegala, which claimed four lives.
A bus traveling from Maduruoya to Colombo lost control due to high speed and crashed into a parked passenger bus operating between Kaduruwela and Kurunegala.
The accident, which occurred early this morning (10), resulted in the deaths of four people, including a woman. Twenty-eight others were injured and admitted to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital, where three are reported to be in critical condition.
Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the deceased.
