Sri Lanka, Dec. 23 -- Traffic movement in the Kelaniya area is restricted today due to the annual Helena Balika Vidyalaya Perahera, held in conjunction with the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara Duruthu festival.

Police announced that restrictions began at 3:00 PM across several roads. All vehicles travelling on the Biyagama road must now divert through Gangawella Road near the Biyagama entrance of the Kelaniya Temple and proceed via the Kelanisiri roundabout. Similarly, vehicles heading toward Biyagama from the Peliyagoda side should travel through the Kelanisiri roundabout and continue via Gangawella Road toward the temple entrance.
