Sri Lanka, Feb. 16 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority conducted raids today to crack down on traders selling rice at higher prices and hoarding stocks.
During a raid in the Fort Old Street area, authorities took legal action against a shop owner found hoarding 550 packs of 5 kg Keeri Samba rice.
Officials revealed that some traders have been stockpiling Keeri Samba rice due to its high demand ahead of the upcoming Ramadan festival.
