Sri Lanka, April 25 -- The Department of Meteorology has warned that thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur in several areas later today (25), particularly across the Eastern, Uva, Central, Northern, and North-Central provinces, as well as in the Hambantota district.
The general public is kindly advised to take adequate precautions to minimise the risk of lightning-related incidents.
Showers or thundershowers are expected tomorrow (26) at intervals in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, and in the Mannar, Galle, and Matara districts.
Elsewhere across the island, showers or thundershowers are likely to develop after 1:00 p.m.
Fairly heavy rainfall, approximately 75 mm or more, is expected...
