Sri Lanka, April 26 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning in the Uva, Central, and North-Central provinces, as well as parts of Hambantota, Ampara, Batticaloa, and Vavuniya.

Showers or thundershowers are expected across most of the island during the afternoon or night.

Fairly heavy rainfall, around 75mm, is likely in the Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces, and also in the Vavuniya and Polonnaruwa districts.
